The Russian Invasion of Ukraine Impact on the Foundation’s Mission to Russia
Face The Future Foundation is a Canadian charitable foundation with a 26-year history of providing humanitarian surgical medical missions to developing countries around the world. These presently include Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nepal and Kurdistan Iraq. We are committed to caring for patients in need of complex facial plastic and reconstructive surgery who would otherwise not receive treatment. We are also building medical capacity in these countries through the education of local health care professionals.
We are extremely concerned about the tragic and catastrophic war taking place in Ukraine. Although 26 years ago, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, our initial surgical missions were to Russia, Face The Future Foundation is suspending indefinitely its mission to Russia.
Face the Future Foundation is actively seeking ways to support the humanitarian and medical needs of the people of Ukraine, including exploring the creation of a new surgical mission to Ukraine as their needs demand and circumstances permit.
We stand with Ukraine and encourage all those individuals and nations with influence to dedicate themselves to finding the earliest possible diplomatic solution to end this humanitarian crisis.
